I’ve been blessed to have spent the last 25 years mastering the art of hair. Being a hair stylist & owning a salon is something I've always wanted to accomplish. After graduating high school mid-term & earning a scholarship, I immediately started Cosmetology School at A Cut Above Beauty College in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1999. Getting close to achieving my 1500 hours to complete the program & receive my license, I got pregnant with my first child. After graduating Cosmetology School & bringing my beautiful daughter into this world, I found my first salon home in 2001. I started pursuing my passion of doing hair & quickly building my clientele by assisting the owner & 2 years later I decided to relocate to a new salon & started booth renting. That was a huge step for me in my career & I just knew that it was the right thing to do & that it would lead me in the right direction for my future. After moving around from state to state, having my second child & booth renting for about 10 years, I finally decided that I was ready to become a salon owner. So, in March of 2013 I took over ownership of the salon that I was working for in Bonner Springs, Kansas. It just kinda fell into my hands, but it truly was a blessing in disguise. I named the salon Savvy Hair Studio after my daughter Savana. In December of 2014, a very unexpected fire happened & Savvy had to close its doors for 5 months. After the fire, Savvy relocated to a new location off of Kaw Drive in 2015 & was there for about 4 yrs. Then in 2019, Savvy relocated to its final location in Downtown Bonner Springs. I’m very happy in my new salon home & couldn't be more thankful than I am today! This has been a dream come true & I owe it all to my husband Domonic. High School Sweethearts & 26 years together, he has always had my back, been my #1 fan & my biggest supporter. We have 2 beautiful children together, Savana & Cruz. Savana is also a stylist at Savvy! She has followed my footsteps into the beauty industry & I’m so proud of her! Cruz keeps me busy outside of the salon with his sports & activities! I really enjoy going to his football games & wrestling tournaments! I love spending time with my family & friends & going to hair shows/classes to keep up with the latest trends! I'm truly blessed! Being a successful hair stylist for 25 years & a salon owner for 11 years has been an amazing journey! I can't wait to see what my future holds next!
